The Vortex

I believe I have a vortex in my office.  Before you begin mocking me, laughing so hard that you fall out of your chair and cut your head on the corner of your desk, hear me out.

Dictionary.reference.com defines a vortex as “a rapid rotatory movement of cosmic matter about a center, regarded as accounting for the origin or phenomena of bodies or systems of bodies in space”.  Because a vortex naturally pulls other objects and people toward itself, something that happens out of the ordinary (a seemingly impossible happening) could become a reality because of it.

I have attempted to document this phenomenon in my office using only the crude equipment at hand.  That includes a webcam, myself, and the office.  Below is my real, unaltered experience.  I apologize for the poor sound and video quality.

As you can well see, the vortex pulled me and my wife, Claire, toward its center.  If I’m not mistaken, there was also music involved.

That was very funny. I have one of those vortexes in my house too. Your wife was funny. I hate it when I get caught dancing by myself!!

Yeah, she totally didn’t know I was making a video when she walked in. The look on her face was genuine shock. I panicked at first, a few minutes worth of work wasted, then I realized: hey, I can play this off like the vortex just pulled my wife into it. Genius.

Too funny. That’s awesome that Claire got “sucked into the vortex” by accident. Great video. I lived in the same house with you my entire life up until recently, and I had no idea you were such a skillful dancer!!!

I’m not so sure about the “skillful” part. It is dumb luck that I was dancing on beat with the song I inserted later. Turned out to be a real treat.
